If beaches aren't what spring to mind when Indiana is the topic, consider an enlightening excursion to Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, where dunes, beaches, savannah, marsh, fen and forest compete for the savvy outdoors enthusiast's attention.
Shady trails with scenic views, interesting rock formations and a variety of terrain.
A primitive campground with pit toilets, hitching racks, and water is available (for livestock use only). The campground is designed for horse camping, however, any National Forest visitor is welcome to camp. There is no use fee at this site.
Day use parking is available free at the campground.
