Liberty Trail

Basics
Length:
0.8 miles
Difficulty:
Intermediate

Description

The Penrose system of trails (including Liberty, Patriot and Independence Trails) tend to be on the rough and dangerous side, but Liberty is the gentlest of the lot, often used as an "escape route" from its rockier brothers. Which isn't to say that Liberty Trail isn't rocky itself or lacks obstacles. The first obstacle is "The Gap," a waterfall with a massive opening in the middle that a vehicle can't quite straddle - you'll either need to dip part of the vehicle into the gap or go careful along the edge. Then there's the Waterfall and its tricky ledges. The rocks get more and more as you go. The "V" obstacle involves manuevering around slabs of rock, the Wall is a ledge you have to drop right down, and then there's the Cube, if you feel like driving over a rock.
