Description

Sundance Lake was built for fishing. Now, one of the most scenic spots on the forest, this 5.3 acre lake near Spurgeons Corner and Becks Grove in Brown County was constructed in 1992 through the cooperation of the Indiana B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation, Indiana Department of Natural Resources - Division of Fish and Wildlife, Soil Conservation Service, and the Forest Service. The partners wanted to expand fishing opportunities in that part of the forest.

The lake is named for a Native American spiritual dance which has been held annually near this site.

Sundance Lake has been stocked with bluegill, redear, bass and channel catfish and offers some of the best fishing opportunities in the area.

The lake was designed to be available to all fishing enthusiasts, featuring two accessible piers and accessible restroom facilities.

The lake is available for other events such as Special Olympics and Big Brother/Big Sister outings.

To provide a safe and high-quality fishing experience to all, hunting, camping and swimming are not permitted in the area. There is no boat ramp provided; however, boats with electric motors are allowed on the lake.
